Craft-Based Visual Arts, Reimagined with Modern Maker Tools
Little Panda Scholars offers a turnkey, grant-aligned arts & crafts program for LAUSD schools, including campuses supported by CAP and other visual arts funding.
Our program focuses on hands-on, craft-based visual arts enhanced by modern creative technology, allowing students to design, build, and create using materials and tools that reflect how art is made today.

What Makes Little Panda Scholars Unique
Tech-Forward Creative Tools
Little Panda Scholars integrates age-appropriate creative technology into our visual arts curriculum to support spatial reasoning, design thinking, and hands-on innovation. Rather than screen-based technology, we use maker tools that keep students actively creating with their hands.

Students use child-safe 3D pens to transform drawings into three-dimensional creations, such as:
-
Small figures and toys
-
Decorative objects and charms
-
Themed accessories and props
-
Structural elements for collaborative art pieces
3D pens allow students to:
-
Draw in three dimensions
-
Understand form, balance, and structure
-
Build fine motor strength and coordination
-
See ideas become physical objects in real time

For select projects and age groups, students are introduced to 3D printing as a creative fabrication tool.
Students may:
-
Design simple forms or components
-
Learn how digital designs become physical objects
-
Incorporate printed elements into larger craft projects
3D printing is used to enhance, not replace, hands-on crafting—supporting curiosity about how artists and designers bring ideas into the real world.

Skills Students Develop
Through our arts & crafts curriculum, students build:
-
Fine motor skills & hand strength
-
Visual-spatial reasoning
-
Creative problem-solving
-
Focus, patience, and task completion
-
Artistic confidence and self-expression
For TK–Kindergarten students, crafts also support pre-writing and early academic readiness.
