About Little Panda Scholars

Little Panda Scholars provides Mandarin language enrichment and hands-on STEM programs that help students build confidence, creativity, and communication skills through engaging, project-based learning.

Position Overview

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for responsible middle school and high school students interested in leadership, education, working with children, and the Mandarin Immersion community.

​

CITs work alongside camp staff to support campers during Mandarin lessons, STEM activities, games, transitions, and special events. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to gain experience working with children in a fun and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and counselors during camp activities

• Encourage campers to participate and stay engaged

• Model positive behavior and good sportsmanship

• Support small-group games and activities

• Help prepare and organize materials

• Assist with transitions, snack time, and clean-up

• Encourage campers to use Mandarin during designated activities

• Serve as a positive role model for younger students

• Help document camp activities through photos and videos (if assigned)

Qualifications

• Responsible, dependable, and enthusiastic

• Enjoy working with elementary-aged children

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to follow directions and take initiative

• Mandarin Immersion experience preferred

• Rising 6th–12th grade students encouraged to apply
