Create Videos. Tell Stories in Mandarin.

Learn What Makes Content Connect.

Coming Summer '27

A two-week summer intensive designed exclusively for Mandarin Immersion students entering grades 6-8.

Students work in teams to launch a video podcast, conduct interviews, create short-form videos, and premiere their work at a final showcase.

What You'll Create

🎙️ Launch your own video podcast

🎤 Interview interesting people

📱 Create short-form videos

📈 Learn how creators build audiences

🤝 Work with other MI students

🎬 Premiere your project at Showcase Day

No worksheets. No textbooks. Just storytelling, creativity, and real-world communication in Mandarin.

Why Parents Love it

✓ Keep Mandarin active during the summer

✓ Build confidence speaking and presenting

✓ Strengthen communication and storytelling skills

✓ Connect with other MI students

✓ Learn how modern media influences and engages audiences

✓ Create meaningful projects—not just consume content

Many MI students stop actively using Mandarin during the summer. Through storytelling, interviews, collaboration, and real-world communication projects, students strengthen their Mandarin while building confidence, presentation skills, and media literacy.

More Than a Video Camp

Most media camps teach students how to record and edit videos.

Mandarin Media Lab goes a step further.

Students won't just create content—they'll learn why some stories capture attention, how creators build audiences, and how modern media influences the way we communicate.

Through hands-on projects and guided discussions, students explore:

✓ What makes content engaging

✓ Why some videos get shared and others don't

✓ How creators build trust and community

✓ The fundamentals of audience and storytelling

✓ How brands and creators work together

✓ Responsible and thoughtful content creation

By the end of the program, students won't just understand how to make content—they'll understand how great content connects with people.

Learn from a Team of Specialists

Unlike many camps where one instructor teaches everything, Mandarin Media Lab brings together specialists in media strategy, Mandarin communication, and content production. Students learn from mentors who each contribute a different piece—from developing ideas and communicating clearly to producing polished media projects.
